Description & Origin

  • Curly-leaf pondweed leaves are stiff and crinkled, similar to a crinkle-cut French fry, approximately 1/2” wide and 2 to 3 inches long with toothed edges and alternately arranged along the stem.
  • Native to Eurasia, Africa, and Australia.
  • Clasping-leaf pondweed, which has a smooth leaf edge, looks similar to this species.

Means of spread

Fragments attached to watercraft or trailers are sufficient to introduce and establish the species into new waters. Be sure to Clean, Drain, Dispose, and Dry!
