Permitting Process

There are special rules and regulations to be mindful of when developing Minnesota lakeshores. They help to protect water quality and minimize the visual impacts from development. Lakeshores extend 1,000 feet from the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) of any DNR classified lake. This entire area is subject to the lakeshore regulations.
