Introduction of contraband or weapons is strictly prohibited by state law. Contraband is an item or items that will compromise the safety and security of this facility, are illegal to possess under Minnesota State Statute or have been altered from their original state. Those who introduce contraband into the Douglas County Jail will be charged and prosecuted.
Contraband items include, but are not limited to:
- Guns
- Knives (any size)
- Chemical Sprays
- Drugs
- Personal Electronic Devices such as cameras, cell phones or any other recording device
- Razors
- Scissors
- Box Cutters
- Needles of any type
- Pornographic materials, magazines, pictures, Etc.
- Any item that can be used as a weapon
Correctional Staff have the right to refuse any other items at their discretion.
