The Douglas County Jail offers a variety of opportunities for inmates who are interested in advancing their education, with such programs as Adult Basic Education, computer/writing classes and options to obtain a GED. There are also a variety of activities within the facility such as movie nights, theatre presentations, and game tournaments.
For inmates interested in starting a recovery program there are several options including Alcoholics Anonymous, “Set Free” Christian treatment program, and Teen Challenge informational meetings.
Inmates who wish to explore their faith can participate in a weekly church service, Residents Encountering Christ (REC) weekend retreats.
