Details:
On 01/29/2024 at 0316 hours, Douglas County Dispatch received an open 911 call and could hear yelling that their chimney was on fire. Deputies arrived on scene and were able to see a chimney attached to the house that was smoking. The Osakis Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. All occupants of the house were evacuated and there were no injuries. The caller indicated he noticed the wood stove had excessive smoke coming from it, and after checking it he noticed flames inside the chimney and called 911. Responding agencies were the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Osakis Fire Department and North Ambulance.
