Driver 1: Gordon Bartels, Age 61
Driver 2: Gary Tesch, Age 60
Details: On 6/10/2024 approximately 0800 hours, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a call of a motor vehicle accident involving a semi and dump truck. It was initially reported unknown injuries but later determined both drivers received head and neck injuries. Both drivers were transported to Alomere Health Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation showed that the semi-truck driven by Gordon was traveling west on County Road 73. It was reported that Gordon stopped at the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road 73. Gordon proceeded across County Road 3 when the dump truck driven by Gary, who was traveling south on County Road 3 struck the semi causing severe damage to both vehicles.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Osakis Fire and Rescue, and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the crash.
