Case Details:
Complainant: Lucas Jaskowiak, age 38 of Barrett, MN
Victim: Bonnie Johnson, age 85 of Miltona, MN
Details: On 2/26/2026 at 10:11 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a detached garage with living quarters on fire in Miltona Township. The caller informed Dispatch that a female was located and removed from the garage, but was not responsive or breathing. Douglas County Deputies and medical personnel performed life saving measures on the female, but she was pronounced deceased on scene. Miltona Fire Department and Parkers Prairie Fire Department were able to extinguish the fire. The fire started in the living quarters portion of the garage and received extensive damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
Responding agencies were the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Miltona Fire Department and First Responders, Parkers Prairie Fire Department and Ambulance, North Memorial Ambulance, Life Link, and Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
