Complainant/Victim: Nicole Lee Feeken, age 47 and Jason Jerome Feeken, age 49
Case Details:
On October 12, 2025, at approximately 10:28 PM, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a female reporting symptoms consistent with a heart attack. While Douglas County Dispatchers were gathering additional information, the caller reported that her husband had begun experiencing a seizure.
Recognizing the symptoms described could indicate carbon monoxide exposure, dispatchers immediately instructed both individuals to exit the residence as a precaution.
Douglas County deputies responded to the scene, along with Garfield Fire & First Responders. Upon arrival, first responders began administering medical aid to both individuals. Deputies learned that the couple had recently started using their furnace for the season and were unaware of any mechanical issues.
Both individuals were transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Alomere Health and were later airlifted by LifeLink for further medical treatment.
A technician from Ellingsons responded to the residence and detected dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide inside the home. The source of the carbon monoxide was believed to be a water heater and furnace that were found to be out of code compliance.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Garfield Fire & First Responders and North Memorial Ambulance.
Officer: Deputy Brody Merrill, #243
