Agriculture: Zoning District Regulations

Purpose

To provide, maintain and enhance agricultural land in the County which has been historically farmed, and to protect the agricultural and natural resource land from scattered residential development.

In agriculture zoning districts, Douglas County allows up to 200 animal units per site without a conditional use permit. If the operation is an existing operation, it may continue operating with the same number of animals described in their current registration. Expansion beyond the registered amount will require a conditional use permit if the completed expansion is to be more than 200 animal units.

For more information on zoning regulations, please refer to the Douglas County Zoning Ordinance.

If you have any questions please contact the County Feedlot Officer.
